Libby Baxter
Libby Baxter is a 2001 graduate of the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy in Newington, Connecticut, and has studied and practiced related holistic fields since 1997. She is professionally trained and Nationally Certified in Deep Tissue, Sports, and Swedish Massage, Shiatsu, Traditional Thai Massage (Nuad Bo Rarn), and Craniosacral Therapy. Libby furthered her training in Thai Massage during the winter of 2007-08 when she spent three weeks in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, Thailand. Libby is affiliated with the American Massage Therapy Association and is also Certified as a Level III Reiki Master and Practitioner, and as a hypnotherapist through the National Guild of Hypnotherapy. She is currently furthering her professional training in Shamanic Energy Medicine.
Libby holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from St. Lawrence University in New York, and continues to study holistic health, yoga, meditation, and sports therapies. Libby specializes in working with competitive athletes, people in chronic pain and pain management, children, and Alzheimer’s patients. She has taught classes in Anatomy & Physiology, Business and Ethics, Reiki, Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage, and Shiatsu. She is a member of the Connecticut Sports Massage Team and has run numerous races from 5ks to marathons including the Jay Peak Challenge 33 mile off road marathon in 2007. Libby has practiced yoga daily since 1997 and currently studies Muay Thai kickboxing; in January of 2010 she trained for three weeks at Sereephap Muay Thai Gym in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and again in 2012. When Libby is not in session, she spends most of her time playing frisbee with her Australian Cattle Dogs, Layla and Dekota.
