Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why should I receive regular massage and bodywork? How often should I come?

A: Therapeutic massage and bodywork is an investment in your health no matter how often you receive it. Ben Franklin said it best, “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Regular maintenance sessions are a lifestyle which can lead to increased health, decreased stress and mental clarity. It is similar to taking supplements or working out, you can’t expect to take a vitamin here and there or go for a walk once in a while and get long term results. The effects of therapeutic massage and bodywork are cumulative and when you have another session booked you always have something to look forward to.

Most of our clients come in for regular sessions every 2 weeks or once a month as preventative maintenance. Some conditions may require more frequent sessions initially until you see some progress. A lot of our clients say that they have been counting down the hours until their next sessions!

Q: Is this your first massage or bodywork session? What to expect.

A: We recommend that you arrive a few minutes early to fill out a detailed health history form. Your therapist will look over the information with you and will answer any questions you may have. Your therapist will customize a session to fit your specific needs. Most bodywork sessions are done with minimal or no clothes for the best results. You are always modestly draped under the sheets at all times with only the part of the body that is being worked on exposed. Oils or creams and essential oils may be used during your session. Tranquil music will be playing in a comfortable atmosphere. This is a safe place for you to relax.

It is very important to speak up at any time during your session if you are uncomfortable in any way. That is if the pressure is too much or too light, if you are too warm or too cold, etc. We want you to enjoy your session and we trust you to let us know how we can help you to get the most out of your time here with us. After the session is over, the therapist will leave the room. Please take your time getting off the table as you will be very relaxed. It is very important to drink lots of water after bodywork to re-hydrate and flush toxins released during the session. Most likely you will be feeling relaxed, clear minded and sometimes energetic. You will probably have one of the best nights of sleep than you have had in a while after a massage! ENJOY!!!!
